Former Student Awarded OBE

It was great to hear that former sixth form college student Sarah Lingard received an OBE for services to British Foreign Policy and The Coronation in the New Year 2024 Overseas and international honours list. She was Head of Events, Royal & Coronation Unit, FCDO (2023) and before that Deputy UK Commonwealth Envoy (2019 -2023).

Sarah was with us 1995-97 and studied Politics, History, English Lit and Sociology. She had some really kind words to say about her time at college: “I really would like to sincerely thank my inspirational teachers at the Sixth Form college, for their invaluable early guidance and support which took me first to to Girton College Cambridge (social and political sciences -1998) and then into the domestic and finally the diplomatic service”

Well done Sarah! Organising a coronation must be quite a challenge!
