10 hours per week 39 weeks per year – term time only
4.00 to 6.00 pm or 6.15 to 8.15 am - Monday to Friday 
Actual Salary: £4,760.16 (pro rata of £20,173 per annum - £10.49 per hour)

We are looking for part-time cleaners to join the College cleaning team. Ideally you will work during term time only but if preferred a full year appointment would be considered. We may also consider a job share or a 3 day working week.

The College is a busy environment with over 3000 students and a high cleaning standard is required. Cleaning staff work under the direction of supervisors who oversee and organise the workload.  They have defined areas for which they are responsible although there are occasions when they are required to cover additional duties during the College busy periods including, open evening, enrolment and parents evenings.
 All cleaning materials are provided and staff are also supplied with a College tabard or polo shirt to be worn whilst on duty.

The pro rata salary includes entitlement to twenty-two days annual leave per annum, plus bank holidays and College statutory days. 

You will be enrolled in the Local Government Pension Scheme. The College also offers on site car parking, cycle to work , Employee Asssistance Programme as well as staff development and wellbeing guidance.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Head of Cleaning Services you will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining the area allocated to the required standard.

Daily
Floors: Vacuum or sweep as appropriate
Toilets: Sweep and wet mop floors daily and dry off as much as possible
Classrooms: Clean floors, empty waste bins, wet wipe surfaces
Lab/Art Areas: Clean floors, empty waste bins, wet wipe surfaces, clean sinks
Appropriate areas: Check and empty recycling bins as necessary

Weekly (in addition to the above)
Floors: Wet mop (Lab areas: one lab per night)
Classrooms/Offices/Labs: Wet wipe ledges/window sills, etc. (on a rotation basis), polish mirrors. Turn off lights on completion of room

Termly
 Major clean as directed by the Head of Cleaning Services.
